Easow Erupputty Kulathrattu

Easow Erupputty was the son of Easow, Azhakanal, a branch of Peralummoottil Puthenpura Sakha. (For more information about Peralummoottil family Refer Peralummoottil Kudumbayogam on line). His ancestor Thommy, moved from Kuravilangadu to Kallooppara in AD1700. Thommy Peralummoottil, was his great grandfather. Erupputty had 3 brothers, Thommy, Chacko and Easow. His brother Thommy was one of the founding members of Marthoma Evangelistic Association. Erupputty was a wealthy farmer and had large properties.

Easow Erupputty was the founding member of St Thomas Marthoma Church, Kallooppara. See an excerpt from the Parish history, published on 3rd March 1985.

Easow Erupputtty, married Mariamma, Methrayil, Keezhuvaipoor, Mallappally. They had 7 children, 6 girls and one boy. Mariamma, Aleyamma, Sosamma, Anna, Kochusara, Kochupennu and Philip Thomas. Philp Thomas, died at young age and was buried in St Thomas Marthomma Church cemetery Kallooppara. Details of their daughters are given at the end.

Easaow Erupputty died on 10-5-1935 at the age of 90, and was buried in the   tomb, St Thomas Marthoma Church cemetery Kallooppara. This is the oldest tomb in the Church cemetery, according to the Parish history published on 3rd March 1985.

Mariamma Erupputty died on 4-8- 1940 at the age of 82 and was buried along with her husband, in the family tomb.

To enliven their memories, an endowment, “Kulathrattu Easow Erupputty and Mariamma Eruppputty Memorial Fund “of Rs.1 lakh to the support evangelists, was established in the Church by one of his great grandsons, Babu.
