Introduction

The purpose of this family tree is to provide a visual representation of the lineage of the Kulathrattu family; tracing relationships to our ancestors. It also allows us to connect with our past and present people both in India and around the world. It is an invaluable source of information for our future generations. I hope you will enjoy reading this collaboration, as much as I have enjoyed collating it.  The conversations I have had; the search for information and the graphics has already reunited many and that is an amazing thing. We have taken every care to provide the most accurate of information, however tracing back our predecessors was not an easy task. I would like to thank you all for your contribution to complete this document.

Our family history draws us back to the State of Kerala, where most of the people captured in this document once resided. However, some of us are the 1st generation settled abroad.  We know each other, because we grew up together in Kerala. However, this is not the case with our 2nd generation abroad, imagine as the time goes.

We are proud of our ancestor’s family history.  However, we start our family tree from 1865 with construction of Kulathrattu family home by our great grandfather, Erupputty. This was one of the early tiled roof homes in Kallooppara. These tiles were manufactured in 1865 by Basel Mission Tile works Mangalore and were recently reused after renovating the family home. The heritage and history of this home is special. It has been passed down from one generation to the next. The home still stands today. At present Kulathrattu Tharavadu belongs to Babu son of Kunjujachen, 4th generation.
